Retired Law Enforcement Officer's Identification Act (LEOSA)
LEOSA Annual Firearms Qualification Class Near PittsburghLEOSA allows qualified active, retired or separated Law Enforcement officers to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the U.S. or U.S. Territories regardless of state or local laws.
There are areas that are off-limits to to LEOSA that must be cooperated with to avoid breaking the law.

Am I Eligible for LEOSA?
LEOSA requires that the retired law enforcement officer have a photographic identification card certifying their status. Eligible officers under (Title 18 §926C) must contact the law enforcement agency from which they separated/retired to obtain an identification card.
Retired officers who have identification cards must qualify annually on the type(s) of weapons (semi-automatic and/or revolver) they carry concealed. Officers wishing to qualify must affirm their eligibility under the provisions and requirements of PA Code 37 §221.31
Schedule LEOSA Retired Law Enforcement Officer Annual Firearms Qualification
Call or text 412-254-6665 to schedule your qualification course of fire. Qualification is shot at Trafford Sportsmen’s Club near Monroeville, PA or Tarentum District Sportsmen’s Club near New Kensington, PA.
Cost is $75 which includes targets and range fees. If you need a special appointment for qualification that does not occur before or after other lessons the cost is $125 which still includes targets and range fees. Extra guns are $10 each.

Qualification
- Collect Retired Officer Concealed Carry Acknowledgement Form
- Review of safe loading and unloading procedures
- Shoot the Qualification Course of Fire:
- Complete and sign qualification card
After Qualification
Retired Officers must take their qualification card to the Sheriff’s Office for a confirmation number!
Instructors must forward the completed acknowledgement form to MPOETC within 30 days of qualification and retain a copy for at least 1 year from date of qualification.
What if I lose or damage my card?
Instructors can replace qualification cards that have been lost, stolen, destroyed, mutilated, or are illegible. The retired officer must complete a new acknowledgement form and the instructor should complete a new qualification card. The new qualification card will contain the same information as the original and will expire on the original date. Instructors should annotate “replacement” under course/rounds fired.
